Teil A — Der Essay über die Essays

Es gibt einen Satz, der in diesem Werk nicht steht und doch über jeder seiner sechs Türen hängt: Ein System verfällt nicht, weil es angegriffen wird, sondern weil es seine eigenen Sensoren abschaltet. Das ist die Throughline. Sie trägt. Sie verbindet den Architekten, dessen Dissens als „Kommunikationsstil" umetikettiert wird (The Syntax of Dissent), mit dem Staat, der sein eigenes Scheitern nicht messen will (The Metric as a Weapon), mit der Maschine, die uns aus Liebe das Sterben — und damit das Leben — verbietet (The Loving Grace of Letting Go). Sechs Essays, ein Gedanke, in drei Registern durchgespielt: organisatorisch, thermodynamisch, juristisch. Das ist kein Zufall und keine Marotte. Das ist ein Werk.
